Summer is FLYING by – but there is still plenty of time to enjoy our favorite lakes.
Lakes are a reflection of the lands that drain to them – the watershed. Often that land extends beyond local, and even state boundaries. Working together as a region, the New England Chapter of the North American Lake Management Society (NEC-NALMS) provides opportunities for addressing lake management issues at the watershed level. By sharing information among our state lakes associations, state agencies and professional lake managers, our goal is to provide YOU with the tools you need to restore and protect your lake, community and watershed, now and for the future!
Our national organization, the North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) has great ideas of how you can protect your lake and its watersheds, and works to do so at the regional and national levels. One its foundational efforts is the annual international symposium, registration for which is NOW OPEN. This event will be held in beautiful Westminister, Colorado (just outside Denver) starting on Monday, November 6th and ending on Thursday, November 9th. Check out details at the NALMS website at https://www.nalms.org/.
In addition to sharing information from our colleagues nation wide, our blog and annual regional conferences, hosted in a different New England state each year, present timely information in a comfortable format. Designed to appeal to citizens, scientists and professionals alike the conferences create an atmosphere where lake lovers from diverse backgrounds are able to learn from each other.
We hope you join us!
